A tree decoration or something more?
This year I want my tree to have even more handmade decorations on – so I have been busy making as much as possible, which has left my blogging a little lacking!
A couple of years ago I made some brilliant little pouches using various Christmas papers. You can view them here. I put some of my handmade bookmarks inside (seen here) and gave them as Christmas presents. I enjoyed making them so much that I decided to make some more this year.
This time I’m not planning on filling them and giving them as gifts, but rather sitting them on the branches of my tree as a decoration. I made them the same way as my previous pouches – using 6 x 6 Dovecraft North Pole paper.
I finished them with my favourite red ribbon and a selection of buttons from my late Nan’s button tin, which I was lucky enough to have been given by my Mum. Using these buttons for hand crafted items I will treasure is just perfect.
To give these a present like appearance, I filled them with scraps of packing paper to plump them out.
Here’s how they look from the back.
I can’t wait to see how they will look on my tree.
What do you think? Will you have a go? Let me know in the comments below.
